Dress Ideas for The Mother of Bride


Bride and Groom are the most prominent part of wedding ceremony. If we look at the second most important personality in the wedding function is parents of bride and groom. However, the mother of bride is of greater importance. Mother of the bride is the one, which unites two different nature
families. She should be dresses in a way, which makes them look prominent in the complete wedding function. Mother of the bride dresses must be glamorous in an elegant way. She should be wearing a flawless dress with decent touch. Accessories are also recommended in order to enhance the overall look of personality. Types of dresses that suit the mother of brides are lehengas, salwar kameez, A-line shirts or kurta, pishwas etc. These all dresses if embellished with beautiful embroidery or bead work then looks perfect for bride’s mother. The dresses for bride’s mothers are available at all the designer houses that offer bridal wear. Mother of the bride dresses includes dull or dark colors with fine and elegant work on it. It does not require much styling as the bridal wear do. Colors that are recommended for bride’s mother are maroon, black, copper, silver, dark red, brown etc. In short, we can say that bright colors should not be added in their dress style.
Coming to lehenga style dress, a mother of bride should wear less flared lehenga, which gives a decent look to them, no matters how much extra work is done on it. Shirt of lehenga can be short or long. Angrakha styled shirt can also be the part of dress. Bride’s mother look decent if they prefer to wear gown styled shirts with lehenga. A dress should not be tightly fitted nor should it be too much loose. Borders of dupatta must be filled with heavy work or embroidery. If the lehenga dress is styled in this way, it will look gorgeous on the bride’s mother and will surely make them center of attention in complete wedding function.

If mother wants to wear salwar kameez than it must not be simple. It too must be heavily embroidered or bead worked. However if salwar kameez is simple than dupatta must be extremely heavily worked with copper or beads work. This will make the overall look of this dress complete and beautiful. Frocks also look good on bride’s mother it wore with churidar or palazzo. For this type of dress frock must not be highly flared. It must be decent, filled with heavy work of copper or embroidery. Embroidery on necklines, cuffs and borders of frock will enhance the overall look of the dress. If the frock is heavily worked then simple dupatta or churidar is allowed with it.
