Despite security agencies’ advice to Nawaz Sharif to avoid using GT Road and opt for M-2 Motorway instead for his rally on Wednesday citing terrorist threats, the former PM is adamant on taking the perilous route.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader, who was disqualified by the top court in a landmark judgment last month, is traveling from Islamabad to Lahore.

He will arrive in Lahore in a bulletproof vehicle and is also scheduled to address his supporters at some point during his journey.

Besides snipers on rooftops on the rally’s route, Section 144 will be imposed in the area to avoid any untoward incident.
Further, in an advisory, the owners of restaurants and hotels on the rally’s route have been asked to keep their businesses closed.
Route plan
The PML-N has chalked out a detailed plan for the former premier’s rally. It will start from D-Chowk, Islamabad and proceed from Blue Area to Zero Point, with more supporters joining it on the way.
The caravan will then travel to Saddar, Rawalpindi through Murree Road. The rally will further proceed to Faizabad and Kachehri where the PML-N leaders and supporters there will join it. Then the caravan will leave for Lahore.
