New 9/11 victim identified, nearly 16 years later

A victim of the 9/11 attacks has been identified, nearly 16 years later, medical examiners said.
The man, who was killed at the World Trade Center, is the first victim of the attacks to have been identified since March 2015.
His name was withheld at his family's request, the New York City medical examiner's office said Monday. It said new DNA technology helped identify him after previous tests yielded no results.
The attacks, which killed 2,977 people, saw al-Qaeda-linked terrorists hijack four planes and crash them into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania on Sept. 11, 2001.
The remains of 1,641 victims have been identified so far — 40% are still unidentified.
