Ammara Khan to make runway debut at PFDC L’Oréal Paris Bridal Week
The collection, inspired by the luxurious and opulent lifestyles of the Russian Royalty, comprises of structured jackets, tapered long trousers, floor-sweeping gowns, voluminous skirts, A-line flowing tunics and classic saris. The materials used include silk brocades, French laces, net, velvet and
organza. Ammara Khan has employed exquisite age old techniques of embroidery using silver and gold thread with meticulous craftsmanship, embellished with crystals, semi-precious stones and lustrous pearls. The color palette is inspired by the festive colors of the historic Winter Palace and the gowns and uniforms of The Tsars and Tsarinas, featuring hues such as rich gold, silvers, soft pastels, amber, taupe, Prussian blues, coral and ivory.
Speaking about Ammara Khan’s participation in PLBW 2014, Ammara Khan, Creative Head of the atelier, said: “I’m very excited to be part of Pakistan’s foremost bridal fashion platform and hope to make a positive contribution. I’m extremely grateful to the Council for this opportunity and wish all the participating designers’ success.”
Founded in 2002, the couture house Ammara Khan is renowned for its signature focus on supreme luxury and exquisite craftsmanship. Ammara Khan’s design philosophy is a harmonious blend of the classic and contemporary. With a childhood love for fashion, Ammara Khan pursued her dream and acquired formal education from the renowned Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) New York and Polimoda in Florence, Italy specializing in evening wear.
Currently, Ammara Khan is available at Ensemble Dubai and at its studio in Lahore. Going forward, the PLBW 2014 collection will be showcased at select multi-designer boutiques in Pakistan and abroad.
