Dior launch the world’s first selfie-friendly foundation

The Diorskin Star make-up has been created with what the brand call a pioneering new formula, using ‘light-bursting’ technology to capture natural light on the face, enhance the cheekbones and eyes, and banish dull skin, shininess and wrinkles.

After conducting extensive research into what women want for their skin, Dior found that two thirds of us dislike the pictures of ourselves online. They also discovered that 42 per cent of women admitted that they looked to their foundation to give them confidence when they were being photographed.
In response to this, the French fashion and beauty powerhouse came up with a £32 foundation that uses ‘light pulsion’ technology, which breaks up harsh light by scattering it across the face to make users look instantly more photogenic. It is being billed by its scientific team as one of the most technically advanced foundations now on the market due to its in-built light trickery to enhance and perfect, leaving a result of an unrivalled airbrush effect and a remarkable 24 per cent increase in radiance.
Edouard Mauvais-Jarvis, scientific communications director at Dior, explained the process, “Our objective was to make the face an ideal light source, emitting the largest amount of the purest light to be luminous.”
Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman is the face of DiorSkin Star and you will also be able to see the foundation in action on the models in Dior’s ready-to-wear spring/summer 2015 catwalk show in Paris later this month.
The product will be available in 16 made-to-measure shades that adapt to the subtleties of skin tone, so all you need now is a selfie stick, the latest photo editing app and you’ll be on your way to competing with Kim Kardashian.
The Diorskin Star Foundation is out this week, priced £32
