Historic Moment In NY Fashion Week As Jamie Brewer Walks The Ramp
What is special about this particular model is that Brewer became the first ever person with Down syndrome to walk the ramp in New York Fashion Week. On this historic moment, Jamie Brewer was clothed in an original outfit by the designer Carrie Hammer. Brewer set an amazing and a very
inspirational example for the generations to come.
On the occasion, Jamie said:
“Young girls and even young women…[see me] and say ‘hey, if she can do it so can I,'” she further added that: “It’s a true inspiration being a role model for any young women to [encourage them] in being who they are and showing who they are.”
Jamie made the historic move as a part of Carrie Hammer’s project that goes by the name “Role Models Not Runway Models”.
Talking about this heart touching initiative, Hammer said: “We feature incredible influential women on the runaway. CEOs, executives, activist, actresses, anyone who is the top of the field, top of their game.”
Jamie used her twitter handle to constantly update her fans regarding the preparations of the historic moment.
