Cullinan heritage was discovered in 2009 at the Cullinan diamond mine in Gauteng province, South Africa. This diamond mine is famous for the type IIA rough diamonds and one of the best mine having diamonds of flawless quality.
In 2010, Hong Kong largest jeweler chow Tai Fook acquired this 507- carat rock for $35.3 million and this price is considered as highest sale price ever achieved for a rough diamond.
Firstly the diamond was cut into a family of 24 smaller d color flawless diamonds and the process completed in 3 years. The company’s master craftsmen have spent the past three years at facilities in South Africa analyzing and perfecting the best approach to cutting and polishing the diamond.
After the cutting setion the Jeweller collaborated with master jewelry designer wallance chan in 2014 and ask him to unite the diamonds into single jewelry piece.
It took 47000 man hours to make this antique jewelry piece with the team of 22 people.
“It was Challenging- all 24 of the small diamonds came in many different shapes. I had to find a way to achieve the optical balance.” said the Designer
The Necklace was also incorporated with hundreds of the mutton fat white jade beans and green jadeite , 598 pink Diamonds and 10953 other white diamonds in addition to the 24 main diamonds from the Cullinan Heritage.
Chain thought it was important for the necklace to have the strong symbolism running throughout the design, He placed Butterflies and bats in the design where butterflies stands for everlasting love and bats symbolizes happiness in Chinese culture.
The green Jadeite and pink pink Diamonds are used to bring Piece to life says the Designer.
The Final jewelry piece can be worn in 27 Different styles which is the cube of 3 and is considered as an infinity in Chinese culture. And the name of Final product is “A Heritage In Bloom”
All these are the Different styles this necklace can be worn and the estimated price of this necklace is $200 million.
